What are Cores​

Cores are the official in-app currency on daily.dev. They power a community-driven economy where developers support each other, reward high-quality content, and help surface ideas that matter.

Cores aren’t just symbolic, they’re a way to show appreciation that holds real weight. Every time you give or receive them, you’re helping build a more generous and value-based developer network.

Cores are not cash, crypto, or legal tender. They can’t be used outside daily.dev, and their value is entirely tied to the experiences and features we enable within the platform.

Cores provide a meaningful way to reward valuable contributions beyond simple likes.

They let you reward contributions that actually help you—whether it's a great answer, a sharp insight, or a post that made you rethink something. The more Cores circulate, the stronger our community becomes.

How to get Cores​

  • Buy them – Instantly available in your wallet or during any reward action
  • Earn them – Every time someone tips your profile or awards your content, you get Cores
  • Grants – In some cases, daily.dev may offer Core grants to select creators or Squad admins to reward their communities

What you can do with Cores​

  • Reward content with Awards – Send free or premium stickers on posts and comments to recognize standout contributions
  • Tip creators directly – Visit any user’s profile and send Cores as a thank-you for their impact
  • Boost a post – Promote your published posts to more developers; your daily budget is set in Cores
  • Boost a Squad – Admins and moderators can grow public Squads by spending Cores on targeted promotion
  • Restore your reading streak – If you break your streak, use Cores to bring it back (your first restore is free)
  • Buy more Cores – Top up instantly from flexible bundles whenever you need more
  • Track your activity – See your balance, rewards earned, tips sent, boosts spent, and full transaction history in your Wallet
